Agreement errors include problems with subject-verb agreement, modals followed by a main verb and determiners. The subject and the verb in the same sentence should agree in person and number. Modals should be followed by a bare infinitive. In a noun phrase, the determiner should agree with the noun in number.

Subject-verb agreement

Wrong: *I studies; *she study.

Right: I study; she studies.

In example 1, the third person plural subject “some sport students” requires a plural verb (i.e. “are”) rather than the third person singular verb “is”.

Some sport student is not afraid about their unhealthy living and still do not wants to exercise or eat well.

Some sport students are not afraid about their unhealthy living and still do not want to exercise or eat well.

In example 2, the plural verb (i.e. “are”) is wrongly coupled with the uncountable subject (i.e. “healthy living”).
